Over Memorial Day weekend, we enjoyed the wonderful wedding of Erik and Brianne Haagenson. We knew Erik through Young Life in Montana. Due to this connection, we were able to reunite with many YL friends, anywhere from Bozeman, all the way over to Virginia. The Archers, The Hoaks, both Matts and the Manns....we truly enjoyed our time with all of you!!!
We also helped dear friends of ours spruce up a house they recently bought. We painted, raised cabinets, put holes in walls and built a deck. Actually, we didn't do all that, Erik did all that. I mainly supervised and did a little painting :) Erik had a great surprise for their deck. Since they are die-hard Buffs fans (University of Colorado) Erik designed a neat CU inlay for the deck. It turned out beautifully, and they were more than thrilled by the surprise.
We have enjoyed a couple Rockies games and went to the BodyWorld exhibit at the Denver Museum of Nature and Science. It was mind blowing all the details of the human body, especially all of the real preserved human bodies on display. I highly recommend going if it is in your area.
We also have been very blessed to have a TV with channels. Now we can watch the WORLD CUP. Erik is still trying to figure out why it is such a big deal, but there have been some great games so far and we still have a whole month to go!! Hopefully the US can score on their own and not need any help from the other teams' goalies (ouch).
Sawyer and Wyatt have been enjoying the Colorado mountain air. They have been playing with Samsun, Chuck and Barb's dog and have been keenly interested in Spencer's two ducks that are in the back yard. Wyatt is growing up fast and is as devilish as ever. Yesterday we came home to: chewed up shoe, chewed up dog bed, and empty hot dog bun wrapper. This all occurred just a day after he pooped on the freshly professionally cleaned carpet. Oh the joys of puppies ;)
This week we look forward to a little vacation from our vacation. We are heading up to Grandby Colorado to a cabin my Great Uncle Albert built. So us, the dogs and my parents will enjoy the great outdoors just on the outskirts of Estes Park.
Hopefully I will update the blog sooner so you wont have to waste all your time reading one long blog :)
